Hello Fall – We're Ready For You!

What a summer it has been, and yet we can’t quite believe it is coming to a close! Although it was more unpredictable than we would have imagined at this point with the looming Delta variant, we are thankful for our good health and being able to keep busy with work. We are thrilled to have Bella Harkins and Adrienne Roy onboard this summer, and can no longer imagine what it was like before they started. With the help of the entire team, CTB proudly continues to be 22 years strong.

We have been looking forward to kicking off September with the return of Jimmy Kimmel to his show. Similar to the spring with star-studded guests like Gal Gadot, Chris Rock, Gabrielle Union & Dwyane Wade, Chris Pine, we are now in for a daily treat this fall with the likes of Tiffany Haddish, Shaquille O’Neal, Jennifer Aniston, and more.

Although we missed Jimmy over the summer, we must say that his guest hosts were excellent and brought their own spirit to the nightly gig. From Anthony Anderson leading the NBA finals game night, late night legend Arsenio Hall with the legendary LeBron James, Julie Bowen bonding with Minnie Driver, Sean Hayes making us laugh with Awkwafina, Stephen A. Smith talking sports with Olympian Allyson Felix, to the closer of this all-star lineup with RuPaul – we enjoyed them all!

Another YouTube show that we like for our daily sports fix is The Pat McAfee Show. His relaxed environment and fun with guests are perfectly displayed with Ice Cube, Usain Bolt, and Vernon Davis.

Speaking of sports, Rich Eisen on Peacock continues to be our daily dose of sports talk. As usual, Rich interviews so many great guests from the sports and entertainment world from Bob Costas, John Cena, Katie Ledecky, to Billy Crystal, Michael B. Jordan, and Michael Keaton.

Another favorite of ours remains to be WTF with Marc Maron – how could it not with his engaging conversations with Hunter Biden, Helen Hunt, Quentin Tarantino, Marlon Wayans, Barry Jenkins, and Billie Jean King.

We experience a Full Release weekly with Sam Bee during Season 2 of her podcast. Her in-depth conversations with the best and brightest from Stephen Colbert, Padma Lakshmi, Bradley Whitfield, Jen Psaki, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt… and exciting episodes to come that you won’t want to miss!

The podcasts from Crooked Media continue to be our straight talk – from Keep It with guests like David Harbour, Brett Goldstein, and Jennifer Coolidge, and Takeline with Adam McKay, LZ Granderson, Coach Geno Auriemma, to Lovett or Leave It with Jenny Slate, Tig Notaro, and Paul Scheer – each show makes our smiles curve up.

More podcasts that are among our summer favorites have been Wondery’s Life Is Short with Justin Long, Spotify’s That Was Fun? with Addison Rae, and Call Her Daddy with Alex Cooper.

And last, but certainly not least, is The Ringer – Bill Simmons with Chris Bosh and Matt Damon, Larry Wilmore with David Oyelowo and Wanda Sykes, Bakari Sellers with Omar Epps and Jurnee Smollett… so little time, so much to listen to!

Before we fully make our way into fall, we wanted to highlight some projects from the spring and summer months:

Turning the Tables with Robin Roberts on Disney+ premiered at the end of July. Each episode features intimate, timely conversations with 3 iconic women who are joining Robin at the table and willing to share their personal stories and inspiring life lessons.

A+E Network brought back its popular true-crime series: American Justice with new cases and Dennis Haysbert as the new narrator. His voice guides us through the twists and turns, and keeps us on the edge of our seat wanting to know more.

And then there is the annual and meaningful Memorial Day Parade hosted this year by Anthony Anderson with musical performances by Jennifer Nettles, Jewel, Dennis Quaid, and Lee Brice, introductions by Magic Johnson, Michael Strahan, Kathy Bates, Matthew Broderick, Joel McHale, and a video message from the Honorable President Joe Biden.

Our team is also working on the Emmy-Award winning Veterans Day televised event, American Valor: A Salute to Our Heroes, hosted by the American Veterans Center. We are looking forward to honoring those who are most deserving of it – our veterans and heroes. This special event will air nationally on Veterans Day weekend where inspiring stories of service and valor will be recognized.

As we turn our gaze towards the fall, we have a lot of great content coming your way. Starting with Facebook’s highly acclaimed series: Red Table Talk with Jada Pinkett Smith and The Estefans with Gloria Estefan, which return on 9/15 and 9/30, respectively. Both shows discuss important topics and have candid conversations with 3 generations of women in their families. Salma Hayek joined the table as a guest earlier in the summer and shared her wise words on motherhood and marriage.

Be sure to check out Project Runway, which will strut its way onto our screens starting on 10/14 on Bravo. The guest judges this season score a solid 10 in our books!

There is the annual Sharecare Awards, which honors the creators of health-related programs that promote well-being and embody the spirit of “sharing care.” These award winners will be announced in a six-week social media campaign starting in October. With great talent and deserving winners for each category ranging from Behavioral/Mental Health, Covid Care & Pandemic Response, and Healthy Living – content that we can all relate to this year.

The History Channel aired a powerful television special, 9/11: The Legacy, marking the 20th Anniversary of one of the darkest days. Blair Underwood narrated this documentary and guided us through the telling of some extraordinary stories of resilience and healing, a piece of history for generations to come.

As always, working together with each of you has brought lightness to each day—and for that we are grateful. We are ready to kick off the fall and make it even better than last!

Stay Healthy and Strong,

Your Friends at CTB
